Wanderlust Wednesday : Carnival Victory 2012

I can’t believe that there are only 5.5 weeks until our cruise. I have spent so much time lately surfing through our old cruise photos or watching vlogs of people that have been on our ship. We are getting so close so at this point there isn’t really anything left to do but wait to get packing. Everything is planned. All the details are taken care of. All the i‘s dotted and t‘s crossed.
Scott has been playing round with iMovie over the last couple of months. He made this little video from our 1st Caribbean cruise in 2012. He is practising his movie editing skills and playing around with different stuff because we are planning to take more video this vacation aka vlog. Yikes!
This was our first cruise as a family. Also, our first vacation with the whole family. We even had some family friends along with us as well. There was 14 of us in total on this trip. I think now is a good time to share some of those memories I have been pouring over. Here are some my favourite pictures from this cruise as well.

Our first port was St. Thomas. Here we took the sky ride up to Paradise Point. What an amazing view! They had a small fair type place at the top with the scariest looking ferris wheel I have ever seen.

Some of our group went to Magen’s Bay. I would love to go back one day and see that as well.

In Barbados, we went to Mount Gay Rum Distillery for a tour. If you ever get the chance to go here. Do it! Amazing! We went on the regular tour and also did a more private cocktail event. Which included a cocktail making contest. There were about 14 couples with us and Scott and I pretty much won. Yay us!This tour was a highlight of this cruise for sure. Actually, it has been one of favourite excursions ever.

Scott and I ventured off on our own in St. Lucia. We took a city tour that also toured a planation and a beach. I unfortunately have forgotten the name of both of them. Too bad I wasn’t blogging back then I would be able to reference it.

We booked a beach excursion for a day in St. Kitts. I totally failed and didn’t take any like not even one pictures at the actual beach but there are some from the trip there and back. #fail

St. Maarten is a port I definitely need to go back and see again. I wasn’t feeling well that day so I skipped out on the Sea Trek tour that most of our crew went on. I did do a little walking around the port and we even took a short boat ride. I loved what I did get to do and really want to see more.
Once back in Puerto Rico, we had a day there to tour around. We did a bit of a driving tour in a taxi. We went to the government building and to Castillo San Cristobal. Both we free admission because it was Remembrance Day which was a bonus.

And that was how we did the Carnival Victory. Making memories to last a lifetime.
I can’t wait to get back on a ship. I am sure this next one won’t disappoint either.
