This needs to be in my life. If only I knew someone who could make it for me.
The patio is amazing! This photo really does not even begin to do it justice. You can come up for a tasting. You can buy an assortment of things to eat on the patio. They have wine by the glass or the bottle to enjoy with it. I can definitely see us coming back up here just for this. A LOT. If we were to leave with a bottle or two as well that wouldn’t be so bad either.
Wine and shoes. Be still my heart. They have a fairly large gift shop as well. This beauties are for holding wine.
Give me all of these. Seriously. I don’t know where I am going to put them all but I want them.
Walls lined with wine are the best kind of walls, if you ask me.
I was taking some pictures around the shop and Victoria came over and asked if we wanted some props. Hell yes!
Then after a few more pictures she began our love affair. I mean, tasting. We started off with some Gewurtztraminer. They have three. The 2014 “Woo Woo” is to die for. Every single year actually. It is the perfect white wine. For me, at least. I have been lusting after it since we were first introduced shortly after we moved here. We were definitely bringing a bottle of this home.
Next we had a Secret Affair(2014). It was delicious. A white blend tasting of crisp green apple with after hints of things like peach, pear and honeydew. The bottle is cool. All their bottles are cool. If you look through the key whole, you can see a couple having a rendezvous. Which is why this is the only steamy frosted bottle. Unfortunately, the pictured turned out a little blurry so you will have to trust me on that one. One bottle of liquid love please.
Next we tried the Hush (2012) which is a Rosé. It is smells of summer, bright strawberry, candied apple. Tastes like cherry, watermelon and nectarine. I love the fact that it is not too sweet. I want to drink this in the hot sun on the deck. All summer long. I didn’t pick one up because you have to draw the line somewhere and we had 3 Rosés at home already. We will definitely be back for it.
Then we moved on to the reds. First we tried Dangerous Liaison (2014). Victoria told us this is like a gateway red. Being someone who is just discovering red, I totally believed her. It is a blend of Merlot and Malbec. The color of this wine is gorgeous. This has a sweet spicy flavour with a silky finish. Next time baby.
So many award winning wines. So little time.
This is the Kay-Syrah (2012). Apparently, I didn’t get a picture of the bottle. I am sure you will forgive me. This one was the one wine that we didn’t agree on. I loved it. It wasn’t his favourite. It is a berry flavoured wine with oak tones. A bit of spice and a white pepper finish. I can’t get enough pepper and Scott doesn’t really care for it. Sooooo…more for me. Since we brought a bottle of this home with us.
This baby here was the pride of the tour, the 2010 Bordello. I was a little skeptical at first since she cost twice as much as most of the other wines. Victoria told us to take a sip. Then let this chocolate melt in our mouths, slowly. Do not chew. Then take another sip. This lead us into pure ecstasy. Bliss.
The pattern on the bottle is neat. Girls made up of corsets and boots. If you buy one you even get to take a magnifying glass home. Add to cart.
Isn’t that little post sipper the cutest thing you ever saw. We definitely want to pick some up this summer. They sell them in the shop of course but I was pretending like I had some restraint. The port which is of no vintage is aged 3 years and is called A Girl in Every Port. Love the name. It appeals to me on so many levels. Again with the sip, chocolate, sip. I like this Victoria girl. She really knows how to woo a wino.
As if all that wasn’t enough. Plus, I never thought anything could top the last one. There was the Hoar Frost Icewine 2012 in the chocolate cup. Divine. Also, surprisingly not as sweet as most ice wines tend to be which was really nice. Tastes like strawberries and black cherry.
After all that we headed out to the patio and Victoria kindly took a couple more pictures of us. Love the hat hair I have going on. Jealous? I thought so.
