A Wanderlusting Wino

It is amazing how fast the summer flew by. I have to be honest I feel a little cheated. We didn’t have the greatest summer, weather wise. It was super hot and SMOKY. Not like your favourite Naked palette type smoky more the choke down 3 packs a day kind of smoke. Yuck. It felt like we were living in some super city smog all day almost every day and night. I really shouldn’t complain too much about it since we weren’t in any actual fire danger where I live. This was the worst forest fire season B.C. has seen like something like 60 years. Fires burning everywhere. Thank God, we and all of our loved ones stayed safe because others were not so lucky. Although, I am sad to see summer coming to a close I am as always looking forward to all things fall. BRING ON THE PUMPKIN SPICE. It feels a bit blasphemous but I am ready.

I thought it would be a great idea to re-introduce myself. I have been away for quite some time and maybe you are new or just forgetful like me. Sharing is caring, right? Of course, plus it is fun. Obviously.

As you may or may not already know, I am a super fan of lists. My OCD loves them. I’ll share a bunch of randomness about me to help you get to know me better bullet style and then we will all be happy. I know you love a good bullet list as much as I do because we bloggers are all in this boat together.

  • My favourite colour constantly changes.
  • I prefer to wear black.
  • I have about 567432 trips in various stages of planning/dreaming about right now.
  • Scott and I celebrated being together for 10 years this past April and will be celebrating 8 years married this November. Time flies, man.
  • I feel like a human scratching post lately. We accidentally adopted a kitten this spring. More on that to come later.
  • I am rapidly approaching 40 and most days I don’t even care. And then I noticed another grey eyebrow hair. Thank God and Urban Decay for eyebrow mascara.
  • I have discovered that I am pretty much gluten intolerant and my pizza loving self is in serious denial. Trying to convince her that gluten-free pizza is still pizza is like trying to get a kitten to sit still for more than one second. NOT POSSIBLE.
  • I have recently discovered that being mentally tired from work is soooo much more exhausting  than being physically tired. These days I am going to bed around the time I used to think it was a good time to start getting ready to go out. Clue to rapidly approaching 40? Most likely.
  • I feel like I am in a Disney drought. It has been way too long since I have experienced the magic.
  • My favourite ice cream flavour is Vanilla and it has to be Haagen Dazs. Butter Pecan  will do in a pinch or Chocolate Peanut Butter. Yes, I know. What can I say? I like ice cream.
  • My favourite white wine is a Gewürztraminer. Red is Malbec.
  • I can’t stand Chardonnay.
  • I’m leaving on my next cruise in exactly 4 months. Which is exactly 4 months too far away.
  • It will be my 6th cruise.
  • I’d rather be on a beach somewhere.
  • Love Fuzzy Peach candies but that is where the peach flavoured anything love stops.
  • I’m an Audrey.
  • I pretty always watch Disney movies or Outlander while I am cleaning the house.
  • I’ve been downsizing my shoe collection because it is time and it gives me great pain.
  • Actually, I have been trying to slowly because I think it will be less painful downsize our whole life. It is amazing how much stuff we have and don’t use or need. It is equally as amazing how hard it is to part with said stuff.
  • My toenails are always polished. Always.
  • I have 3 piercings in one ear and two in another. In a younger life, I used to have 2 other piercings. One was never my belly button.
  • I am super picky about what glass I drink out of.
  • I became totally obsessed with Pura Vida Bracelets this summer.
  • I look terrible in grey and amazing in navy.
  • I have my dad’s nose and hair.
  • My handwriting is looking more and more like my mom’s everyday. A skill I could have come in handy when I was still in school.
  • I am usually reading at least 3 books at any given time.

I think that is enough about me for one day.  Don’t want you to get sick of me jabbering on.
