Wow, I can’t believe another whole week has gone by. It seems like time is passing by so quickly lately. Is really time for another Find Beauty Friday? I guess it must be because here we are. It also means that I have been back at this blogging thing for 2 weeks now. I feel like I need a ribbon or a least a glass of wine to celebrate. Yes, wine. Always wine.
If I had blogged this summer more than three times. I would have told you about our girls trip up to the family cabin. I just love it there. So disconnected from the real world. It really is a place of rest, relaxation and recharging. Not your batteries though cause that place is connected to nature and that is it. No power. No wifi. The shock wears off quickly and then it is just bliss on the water.
I think there is something so special about getting back to nature. So beautiful…
About cooking on a wood burning stove. Even if that means burning your sister’s birthday cinnamon rolls because it is only your second time using the oven.
About the smell of that wood fire. Even if it meant that you had to chop the wood yourself.
About sunbathing and reading out in the sun on the lake all afternoon. Even if it means you had to drag the boat and motor down into and out the lake yourselves.
About the coffee…oh the best coffee ever. Even if you can’t have your first cup until an hour after you get up because you have to light the stove and long percolate it.
About the wall to wall windows overlooking the beauty of the lake. Even if it means you will automatically be woken by the sun 6am everyday of your vacation.
About the fresh and woodsy smell of the air. Even if it means bugs. So many bugs
About having so much beauty surrounding you that you just want to share it with everyone. Even if you are totally cut off from social media.
There was also the beauty of the wisdom of the first girls trip to the cabin. There are a lot of blue jobs up there and without the boys with us we can and will do them but the beauty of the cabin reveals that next trip we will bring them with us so we don’t hog it all.
That sounds like such a wonderful place. Sometimes we just need to be cut off from the rest of the world.
Thanks. We really love it!
I can’t believe you guys did this! I was just reading it like nope. Nope. Gorgeous I’m sure!!! But yikes!
