Fresh Start – January Glam Bag

I mentioned in a previous post that I got my second Ipsy Glam Bag recently.  I was considering doing a review/reveal on the blog and you guys said you would love to see it.  So, here it is.  I have done some beauty related posts in the past on my other blog but I am by no means good at it.  It just isn’t really my strength.  Which I find a bit funny, actually.  When I first started blogging I wanted to be a beauty blogger.  Well, maybe not a total beauty blogger but definitely with a beauty emphasis.  Then I  found I strayed to other areas and loved them more ie. wanderlusting.  Beauty just kind of went by the wayside.  I thought about picking it up now and then with a post or two but didn’t really know if that was my readers thing.  So, I just didn’t.  Maybe, if this go well, I will continue with the glam bag reveals and throw a few other beauty related posts in sometimes.  I am going to stop rambling now and actually get to the reason we are here today.  Ipsy and all that glam.
First off, I love the little reusable bags that the make up comes in.  They aren’t high quality or anything but they are handy.  I love the bright colors this month.  The side of the bag you can’t see is white.  I think this bag just gives a little pickup to a dreary winter month.
My favourite item in the bag was the Pacifica eyeshadow.  The one I got was in the color, Ethereal.  It is average quality but considering it is a bargain priced brand.  I really like the shade.  It has a really nice shimmer to it.  It is something that would fit right in with a daily makeup look really easily.  Plus, you could use it as a highlighter as well as a shadow.  Bonus.  I would like to try it wet to see if that helps with the color payout as I imagine it will.  This brand also makes me happy because all of their products are 100% vegan and cruelty free.

My next favourite item is the bellapierre shimmer powder.  Mine came in the color, Celebration.  I adore it.   I don’t have very many mineral eyeshadows.  I am not really sure why that is because I generally like them.  This one is definitely my new fave.  The color payout is fabulous.
This is my first Probelle nail polish.  I wanted to put it on just to see what the quality of the polish was like, how fast it dried and things like that.  In case, I was to happen upon it again.  This is two quick coats.  It definitely needed the second coat.  It dried rather quickly which lets be honest is the most important thing at least for me besides the color.  Unfortunately, this color is not for me.  Maybe when I was 12? Maybe.
I didn’t swatch the moisturizer or the the eye shadow brush for obvious reasons but here is what I thought of them.  The Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow brush is nice.  It is my first experience with this brand.  Most of my brushes are Real Techniques or MAC.  The bristles on this brush are soft to the touch but firm.  I really liked it.  I used it to apply both of the above eyeshadows as I was trying them out.  I love the pink handle.  The real test will be how it fairs over time though.

The eco-beauty good day, day moisturizer is nice.  I like the packaging.  Most moisturizer testers you just have to rip into but this one has a twist off/on cap that will keep the unused portion still good for a while.  It went on nice and light.  I didn’t find it to be greasy at all.  It left my skin feeling soft and supple.  I am not a huge fan of the scent but it is subtle enough that it doesn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the product.

I tested out these products as I was getting ready for work yesterday.  I thought I would create a look based on them.  I wanted to take a picture to show you what they actually look like on rather just how awesome they make my hand look.  Of course this lead to some silly selfies.  I decided to share because I am shameless.
Overall, I am pretty happy with this glam bag.  Especially, in light of the $10 price tag.  Have you ever tried any of these products or brands?  Do you subscribe to Ipsy or any other make up box?
