As I mentioned in my post last friday, last weekend my best gal from way, way back came for a visit. We decided to hit up a few wineries in the afternoon one of the days she was here. A few is usually round about 3? That is what I always thought at least. It is also a decent number of wineries to attempt in an afternoon depending on how close they are etc.
We hit 8. Yes, we are winos overachievers. We headed up to the Naramata Bench wineries because they are the closest ones to us being only about a 7 minute drive away. Also, there are a lot of them in a relatively small area. Bonus. Since it is summer and the end of summer on top of that the wineries were quite busy when we got there. Not a shock or anything but we breezed through them because of this. Which seems weird but normally we would stick around and chat up the owners and maybe another patron or two. They were just so busy it wasn’t really possible other than the usual chitchat or wine story during the tasting itself. There was not a lot of lingering other than snapping a few photos at most of the places. Then it was on to the next one.
Since there was so many wineries I am going to have to break this up into a few posts. I am also not going to show them in order. Not that it really matters and if it does too bad it is my blog. hehe. I am actually surprised at how well the pictures turned out since I couldn’t find my memory card and had to take all the pictures with my iPhone. Not to mention the fact that for the second half of the tour I was getting pretty drunk tipsy.
By far my favourite winery besides Black Widow of course was Therapy Vineyards. Apparently, they also have a guest house but I was too drunk to didn’t notice it. Just means I have to go back and check it out sometime. The property here was beautiful. We spent some time playing between the vines and ooohhhhing and aaaahhhhing over grapes.
T is for Tabitha? Yes? No. Or Therapy but whatever. Barrels and barrels of delicious wine goodness. I know we will be back for sure to get our wine prescripton filled out at the Farmacy.
The decor inside was fabulous. The wines and the shop had a very Freudian theme. We bought a couple of whites. One was Freudian Sip and the other was a bubbly called Fizzio Therapy. I am not normally a fan of bubbly but the fabulous gal doing our tasting convinced us to give it a try. So glad she twisted our somewhat rubbery arms.
We enjoyed all 5 of the wines we tasted but these desert wines in chocolate cups……WOW. No, really WOW.
I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking to tour the area or if you any of there wines in your local wine shop pick up a bottle or three. Don’t forget to invite me over. I’ll won’t be much trouble. I will even bring my own sippy cup.
