promise i am still alive

I took a bit of an blogging break last month.  I hadn’t really planned on doing that but it is what it is.  Sometimes life gets in the way and that is just fine with me.  Although, I do miss all you guys terribly while I am away.  Sometimes I think I actually miss reading blogs more than I do writing mine.  I totally find your lives more interesting than mine.  Isn’t that the way it always is…you know something about the grass being greener somewhere else.  Not that I am complaining because honestly I haven’t a single reason to complain.  knock on wood

Since I didn’t blog much last month, I thought I would do a little recap of some of the highlights.

Since my birthday is in December clearly that was the highlight of the month.  haha.  My sister came in for the weekend and we had some fun and some drinks.  Many drinks, well at least I did.

Although, they all came to a crashing halt of the nights.  My brother brought out this delicious and adorable ice cream cake.  Scott started saying it smelt like Kahula and asked me to smell it.  Like a bimbo, I fell for it.  What he had intended to happen was a light hearted joke of cake in my face.  What happened was more like he smashed my face into a brick wall.  Ah, ya….ice cream cake has no give.  So a bloody nose and a few chuckles later…..Happy Birthday to me.  Oops.

All was well in the world later on when I got this AMAZING Benefit cosmetics advent calendar.  It was love at first sight.
This was on my actual birthday when we went to dinner at my new fave spot, The Cellar Wine Bar.
Another highlight was our trip into the little big city for Scott’s work Christmas party.  Scott works in the biggest city in our area which is actually about an hour away from our house.  I hardly ever go there so it was a nice treat for me.  We didn’t want to have to make the drive back after so we booked a hotel room.  Decided to make a bit of a weekend away of it.  Good times.  Got to love a little mini get away.  I decided we should totally do it more often.
After the party we decided to head to the Cactus Club Cafe for a little after party for two.
I don’t know what happened this night.  Scott and I went out for a random I don’t wanna cook tonight dinner.  I was having wine of course and he ordered a beer.  A winter pale ale to be precise.  For some reason only God knows, I had an itch to try it.  I HATE BEER.  This was really weird.  I had a sip and I didn’t hate it.  I could’t say I didn’t like it.  I even had a few more sips to do some double checks.  Much to my dismay, it wasn’t disgusting.  Then I even suggested that maybe one day we could go out beer sampling or something of the sort.  This is so bizarre I am pretty sure the end of the world is coming or I am dying or some other epic occurrence.  Something must explain this craziness….
And now the random Snapchat portion of the walk down memory lane.  I was totally impressed with myself for the braided head band I made for myself this day.  Oh and don’t forget the fake eye lashes. I haven’t wore those since my wedding.  Obviously, this needed to be snapped.  Then there’s that Tigger.  After almost years he has finally decided to warm up to Scott.  The only problem is now he can’t get rid of him.  He’s stuck with us now.  haha.
Of course, Christmas was a highlight but it was so low key this year I really didn’t take any pictures.  It was nice and relaxing.  Supposedly, the best turkey ever made but I wouldn’t be the one to brag about that.  I can vouch for the pasta and vegetable dishes.  Oh and that pumpkin pie! Love me some pumpkin pie.  Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas season filled with all good stuff!
