sippy cup sunday

It has been a long time since I blogged on a Sunday.  Once upon a time I blogged about Sunday brunches.  I blogged about those brunches till I couldn’t I couldn’t brunch anymore.  With this new blog, it is time to start new projects.  So marks today the first sip from Sippy Cup Sunday.  This is a bit of a crazy one.  Normally Scott and I wine tour together but last week he went without me.  I had to work and we had family in town for my sister’s birthday.  Some of the crew spent the morning floating down the river channel and some wined while my brother and I worked.

Scott asked if I wanted to share his pictures from the tour on the blog.  I thought it was a great idea since then you wouldn’t have to wait another week for me.  They stayed closer to home for this trip since we were all getting together to BBQ later in the afternoon.  They headed out to a few of the Naramata Bench wineries which are about 10 minutes from us.  Since I wasn’t there I don’t really have any stories to go with the pictures.  I thought you would appreciate the beauty of it of all.

The first winery they stopped at was Township 7.  There is a location on the coast for this winery that I never went to while we lived there I would love to check them both out to compare.  Maybe I will get a chance this weekend?

We have driven by Red Rooster so many times on our way to favourite winery, Black Widow.  Every time I mention that it looks really cool and we should go there.  Now I must.  Apparently, they give quite the tour here as Scott said they told him that the tour if you did it could take an hour or two.  I was a bit disappointed he didn’t bring me home that sippy cup.

Hmmm.  Twinsie are we doing something wrong? Cause I could have sworn that we have been enabling this type of shenanigans.

This beautiful place is Hillside.  I love the landscaping and views from this place.  It is one of the original Naramata Bench wineries.

Next we have Lang Vineyards.  Lang was BC’s first farm-gate winery.  A fact we actually learned when we went out for dinner for Scott’s birthday in July.  We ordered a couple of flights of wine.  Probably the best one we sampled was the Lang Gewurztraminer.

Lake Breeze was the last place on they stopped.  This place is beautiful.  We had wanted to go there for dinner for Scott’s birthday but the restaurant is only open lunch hours.  We must go back before the season is done.

I wish they had of taken more pictures of the actual tastings but oh well.  Just gives me excuses to go make him go back and do them all again.  I am sure I will have to twist his rubber arm.
