Valentines, A Disney Debate and Finally a Huntzberger

Hope you all had a fabulous Valentine weekend.  Mine was filled with wine, carbs and love.  Delightful.  Obviously.

On Friday night Scott went to a hockey game so I took the opportunity to fill up a glass and cuddle in with the Gilmore Girls.  For 5 seasons, I have been impatiently awaiting Mr. Huntzberger’s arrival.  Ok.  Maybe not the entire 5 since I my love for Dean is equal in all measures but still.  Somewhere just past midnight Logan finally showed up at a coffee cart at Yale.  A Valentine just for me, I believe.

On Saturday, I hung out and puttered around the house.  Then Scott and I had reservations at our favourite wine bar.  I was dreaming about my veggie lasagna and my favourite wine all day.  We get to the restaurant to find out that they have redone the entire wine menu as of the previous Monday.  Everything is new.  The menu is a special one for the day.  One pretty boring vegetarian dish.  We were not impressed, Scott especially.  I mean really, they should have told him all this especially that they were doing a special menu when he made the reservation.

It turned out ok though because we had our usual waitress who is amazing she got permission for my to order my usual off the regular menu.  Also, decided that trying some new wines out was definitely a task we were up for.  We got a bottle of Viognier from Young & Wyse that was amazing.  I figured it was a safe bet since it was a winery we already loved.

After dinner we decided to try out this amazing Salted Caramel Ganache.  Oh and I tired another glass wine.  This time a Gewürztraminer from The View winery.  It was really good and we will definitely be adding this winery to our touring list this summer.

We were going to head to a movie after but the one we wanted to see The Imitation Game was out of theatres apparently.  There wasn’t anything else we both wanted to see so we headed home watch something there.  We decided to watch Big Hero 6 since well Disney duh.  Plus, I have been hearing a lot of good stuff about it lately.  We both loved it.  Apparently, him more so because we almost had to get a divorce over whether or not it was better than Aladdin.  I conceded that for him it could be better than Frozen since it is a bit girly but I was not budging on Aladdin.  Nothing is coming between me, Prince Ali and the Genie.  Except maybe Abu and the carpet.  Love that monkey.

Before the movie we decided that we just hadn’t had enough wine and decided to open some Kettle Valley Port.  Then decided it was time to send out the obligatory Valentine shoutout to our friends and family.  We ended up taking a few because of “lighting issues”.  And some selfies of course.
Sunday was a bit of a day.  I had planned a few different things out in my mind almost got to some of them.  Then I lost my mental marbles and decided it was better to just relax and catch up on the DVR.   Which is for the best because I think this is going to be a bit of a week around these parts.  Cross your fingers that goes by as smooth as possible.  I think next weekend is going to be pretty exciting.
