Wanderlust Wednesday : Grand Turk

Wow, Wednesday again! It is time for some wanderlusting again.  This week we are going to look back on Grand Turk.  This was the last port day we had on our Carnival Splendor cruise last November.  It also happened to be our 5th anniversary.  Such a splendid way to spend the day if I do say so myself.
We wanted a lazy beach day here so we booked a cabana at Margaritaville.  So cultured I know.  Sometimes though it is nice to just kick back with a your toes in the water, ass in the sand and drink in your hand.  This place was everything we hoped for and more. The view of the island coming in was breathtaking.  The water is the most amazing colour.  Got to love Caribbean blue.
We got off the book ASAP.  Look around the port a bit then headed straight into see what Jimmy had in store for us.  I think we are best buds now.  He really knows what this girl likes.

We wandered around a bit and took it all in.  This is one cool place.  I could definitely see myself spending more time here.  Like a week or maybe they could just let me move in…

We found our cabana and got our stuff settled.  What a nice little air conditioned oasis to kick back in.

After that we took to the beach to do what beach goers do.  I am pretty sure this place is paradise.

Hungry and in need of some refreshments, we headed back to the cabana for some lunch.  Let me tell you they are not skimpy with anything here.  Food for an army it was then.  Those drinks packed some punch… and yum.

Throughly stuff but not wanting to waste any of our time here we spent the rest of the afternoon between the beach and the pool.  A good time was definitely had.

I don’t know why but I am always fascinated with taking pictures of the ship from shore.  Am I the only one doing that? I surely, hope not.

This was by far one of my favourite days of this cruise.  It ranks right up there for all time cruise day too.  The day didn’t end there.  It was our anniversary after all.  I will however save the rest for next week since this post is already sooooo picture heavy.  Sorry about that.  Actually, totally not.

Have you been to Grand Turk before? I know some of you have.  Did you do something else here?  I would love to go back and actually spend time seeing the rest of the island.  Or to pick out some beachfront property.
